We will mix business with pleasure: the serious business of fine wine tasting together with the pleasure of connecting with senior peers, colleagues and friends from leading UK organisations. Alongside the gourmet dinner, there will be a champagne reception and wine tasting, hosted by entertaining Master of Wine (the highest wine qualification, held by just 369 experts worldwide), Peter McCombie.
This part of the evening involves some light-hearted wine-related team competition, with the winner receiving the ultimate accolade – the Chief Wine Officer. The wine theme is ‘Grape expectations’, take a classic grape variety produced in two wildly differing regions – one traditional, one unexpected – and compare the results.
Peter McCombie: Peter is a New Zealand-born, English resident Master of Wine, based in London. Peter McCombie was awarded the Master of Wine qualification in 1994, while working for Italian specialist merchant Winecellars.
