Fighting Financial Crime with AI: A Neat Approach to AML & Fraud

March 11 @ 6:15 pm

CWO and IBM present

Fighting Financial Crime with AI: A Neat Approach to AML & Fraud

WHAT’S ON THE AGENDA

Chief Wine Officer and sponsor IBM RegTech invite you to an exclusive evening of premium whiskey, gourmet dining and expert insights on financial crime and innovations to address it.

Financial institutions across the globe are at a cross roads. Existing AML, KYC and fraud prevention solutions have fallen short of expectations, leading to ever increasing alert volumes, regulatory penalties, losses and operational costs. Artificial intelligence and machine learning offer a solution, but the necessary skills and regulatory endorsement have been in short supply.

Join us at New York’s historic The Beekman and network with peers while hearing about the changing perceptions of AI in the fight against financial crime as well as the real-life results achieved by similar institutions.

Guest speakers will present current trends in financial crime as well as the latest innovations in AI, automation and advanced analytics. Discover how global financial institutions have stopped fraud and controlled AML and sanctions compliance by leveraging AI and automation to gain greater insight, make better decisions and reduce both time and wasted resources.

Complementing the evening will be a four-course gourmet dining experience, accentuated by some premium-whiskey tasting. An exclusive opportunity to network among peers and partake in discussion around industry-leading topics, ending the night with some light entertainment provided by your whiskey expert.

CHIEF WHISKEY OFFICER EXPERIENCE

Sam Karachi

Whiskey Expert

We will mix business with pleasure: the serious business of whiskey tasting together with the pleasure of connecting with senior peers, colleagues and friends from leading Financial Services organisations. Alongside the gourmet dinner, there will be a whiskey tasting, hosted by entertaining whiskey speaker.

This part of the evening involves some light-hearted whiskey-related team competition, with the winner receiving the ultimate accolade – the Chief Whiskey Officer.

Sam Karachi has worked in the spirits industry for over a decade. His wine and spirits knowledge is both vast and deep. He started his career tending a famous BC college bar. After graduating college he honed his skills in both spirits and wine at numerous cocktail bars and wine bars in Boston. He was later hired by Edrington USA as the New England brand ambassador focusing on The Macallan and Highland Park. Within three years, Sam was known around New England as one of the foremost scotch experts on the East Coast. He was subsequently hired by Taylor & Taylor Whiskey Co. as the VP of sales for the state of New York, where he represents numerous scotch distilleries, gin distilleries and an Armagnac. He is exciting, entertaining and extremely knowledgable.
